Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking D441 Test Engineers to plan and execute tests for Combat and Weapons Systems and Non-Propulsion Electronics Systems on submarine classes. You will work with D278 Electronics Technicians in shop, COATS facility CCSMs, and shipboard environments to ensure safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Minimum of two years of experience with shipboard construction, testing, and/or operation/familiarity with combat and weapons systems.
• Preferred Navy or shipyard test supervisory experience onboard submarines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute submarine test programs across multiple classes.
• Qualify as Shift Test Director per NAVSEA requirements.
• Conduct safety briefs and ensure proper safety controls are in place.
• Certify prerequisites before tests and review data for conformance.
• Document hold ups, non-conformances, and post-test actions.
• Coordinate with trades, ships management, engineering, and government personnel.
