Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT seeks a highly motivated junior software developer to join SEG and help build applications for submarine design, manufacturing and construction. You will work with stakeholders, designers and engineers to translate requirements into practical software solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
5–10 years of post-graduate Java or responsive web app experience.
Java and web-based development using JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience with Oracle/SQL databases.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
DevOps CI/CD pipelines advantageous.
Automated testing with Selenium/JUnit.

Responsibilities

Define, plan and build complex applications (Java and JavaScript/TypeScript).
Translate requirements, UI/UX designs and prototypes into visuals and behavior.
Write well designed, testable code using best practices.
Promote peer review and testing/validation to ensure high-quality code.
Maintain software applications throughout the lifecycle of the product.
