Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Submarine Shipbuilding Improvement Engineer/Analyst to support the Virginia Class Submarine Program at the Washington Navy Yard in DC.

The role focuses on identifying and implementing improvements to accelerate production, boost productivity, and enhance safety for Navy submarine construction. Qualified candidates will have DoW Secret clearance, a relevant engineering degree, and 5+ years in submarine construction, with strong data analysis and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. DoW Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial engineering, business administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years submarine construction experience.
• Proficient in MS Suite, incl. Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

Responsibilities

• Understand why submarine construction takes time and identify bottlenecks.
• Analyze submarine construction processes and identify inefficiencies.
• Propose and implement process improvements in shipbuilding.
• Lead cross-functional improvement projects and manage scope, time, and budget.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies to reduce waste and improve quality.
• Collect and analyze data to support data-driven decisions.
