Job summary

Babcock in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria is seeking an Engineering Manager to influence design, build, supportability and long-term availability of the UK's future submarine fleet. You will act as Babcock's senior engineering representative, collaborating with major industry partners and defence stakeholders to embed the insights of the in-service maintainer into future submarine capability.

35 hours per week, hybrid working patterns available with travel to other sites such as Devonport, Clyde and

Qualifications

• Significant engineering leadership in complex, regulated environments.
• Experience planning submarine maintenance within waterfront settings.
• Knowledge of nuclear submarine base or deep maintenance safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering supportability activities across future submarine programmes.
• Influence senior stakeholders to keep engineering support central to decisions.
• Represent Babcock at technical, programme and customer forums.
• Provide expert guidance on submarine maintenance and availability requirements.
• Collaborate with defence partners to drive future capability development.
