Job summary

Nautilus Holdings LLC is seeking a hands-on Machining Manager to lead our precision shop and translate NAVSEA requirements into actionable floor plans. You will supervise machinists, optimize processes, and ensure compliance for high-stakes submarine components.

With 5+ years in CNC machining and 3+ years in leadership, you will drive lean improvements, mentor the team, and partner with Engineering to meet strict delivery schedules for Navy contracts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC machining experience.
• 3+ years leading, developing, and managing manufacturing personnel.
• Undergraduate Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
• Experience with ISO9001 or similar Quality Management Systems.
• Experience operating and maintaining ERP systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analytics.
• Strong ability to work independently and in groups to identify and resolve issues.
• Technical Proficiency: knowledge of multi-axis CNC milling/turning and the ability to troubleshoot complex setups on the fly.

Responsibilities

• Lead the machining of high-precision parts for Navy platforms, managing work centers to meet aggressive delivery schedules.
• Ensure NAVSEA Level I/SUBSAFE compliance with material control and heat-treat traceability.
• Direct machining strategies for exotic submarine alloys like Inconel, Titanium, HY-80/100.
• Coordinate with CNC programmers to optimize tool paths and reduce cycle times.
