Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Mechanical Designer/Drafter II to support United States Navy submarine programs and UUVs. You will develop and update drawings and models, conduct ship checks, and assist with shipboard installation and documentation in accordance with Navy, DoW, and company standards.

This position is 100% onsite and requires CAD experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or SOLIDWORKS, and the ability to read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED plus a CAD/Drafting certificate.
• 3 years minimum experience creating 2D CAD drawings.
• 3 years minimum experience creating 3D solid models.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ship checks on US Navy submarines to collect field data and verify configurations.
• Develop 2D drawings and 3D models for shipboard installations.
• Maintain and update Lists of Material (LOM).
• Collaborate with engineers to support mechanical design solutions.
