Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking a Waterfront Manufacturing Engineer to support the Columbia Class program. You will develop build strategies and fixtures for submarine components, and provide direct shipyard support while collaborating with engineers, trades, and vendors.

Travel between Groton and Quonset Point may be required. Qualifications include a BS in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering with 0-5 years of post-graduate experience.

Qualifications

• Required: BS in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering
• 0-5 years post-graduate engineering experience
• Preferred: construction support experience
• preferred: background in structural analysis and/or finite element analysis methods
• preferred: experience with GD&T

Responsibilities

• Develop build strategies and conceptualize methods and fixtures for fabricating and assembling submarine components and systems
• Design tools and fixtures; prepare Manufacturing Engineering Documents for critical installations
• Provide shipyard support; interact with engineers, shipyard trades, and vendors; travel between Groton and Quonset Point as needed
