Job summary

PURVIS Systems is seeking a Systems Trainer to train, brief, and certify submarine onboard systems and at submarine ports. The role requires coordinating with military and civilian personnel and performing system software/hardware development for special projects.

Ideal candidates have significant IT experience, submarine operations background, and certifications such as RHCSA, CompTIA A+, and Sec+. Expect 30% travel and security clearance to TOP SECRET/SCI level.

Qualifications

Experience in information technology and 5 years in submarine operations.
Ability to interface with senior military and civilian personnel for onboard certification.
Experience at sea on deployed submarines and CSRR equipment configurations.
2–3 years in Windows administration and Linux (RHEL) administration.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to think outside the box.

Responsibilities

Conduct OS training, configuration, and certification for Windows and RHEL on submarines.
Brief Commanding Officers and crews on system operations.
Develop, maintain, test, and repair Special Projects System Software/Hardware for NUWC Code 34.
Assist in TEMPALTS development for Special Projects.
Prepare systems for shipment and installation.
Create and implement testing procedures for RHEL and Windows systems.
Assist in submarine onboard installation of computer systems.
Perform cybersecurity scans.
Travel up to 30%.
