Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an experienced engineer to support HM&E testing during new submarine construction at the Groton shipyard. The role involves coordinating with Navy representatives, conducting test procedures, and guiding retest activities across programs such as VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA.

The ideal candidate has strong communication, project management and collaboration skills, and can operate under tight schedules while ensuring safety and quality compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years submarine design, construction support and/or testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate trade work to determine retesting needs and issue HM&E test procedures.
• Troubleshoot and provide deck plate support during certification testing for HM&E and NPES.
• Support Virginia Hull for New Construction thru PSA and Technical Availabilities.
• Assist in identifying retest requirements and at-sea testing as needed; coordinate with shipyard and NAVSEA.
• Work with Electric Boat management, operations, engineering and quality teams and with SUPSHIP Groton and NAVSEA.
