Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is hiring entry level Draftsman-Learners to support structural, mechanical, piping and electrical design for submarine components. This role is union-affiliated and part of the EWIB pipeline program with training opportunities.

On-site work with supervision focuses on learning NX CAD, reading blueprints, and applying design math while building essential drafting skills for future growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Less than two years of relevant work experience.
• Completion of EWIB Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative Training Program may be required.

Responsibilities

• Structural aptitude and ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Knowledge of Microsoft products and CAD tools (NX preferred).
• Ability to perform design related math functions.
• Ability to read and interpret written instructions and blueprints.
• Desire to develop skills through on-the-job experience and continued education.
• Familiarity with GD&T, manufacturing processes and lean design/manufacturing.
