Job Summary:

Provide effective instruction by using current skills and knowledge in courses assigned by the Lead Faculty. Instructors will need to create a learning environment that facilitates active learning and encourages students to fulfill their academic potential.

Essential functions of the Job:

One of the largest goals for this position is to develop continuing education courses that meet the needs of today’s Fire and EMS Providers in an effective manner. This instructor must be able to:

• Create new quality content that piques the interest of our customers;
• Be EMT-P, EMT-B, or Fire certified with the knowledge and skills to research topics and create course outlines;
• Develop CE courses in the form of articles or videos for our online library after creating course outlines;
• Complete peer reviews of other SMEs for compensation of $50-100 per review depending on CEU hours.

Position Requirements:

• Firefighter with teaching experience preferred;
• TCFP FFI and FFII Certification with teaching experience preferred; or similar qualifications;
• Must be knowledgeable in the content delivered, with strong communication, leadership skills, and the ability to plan, direct, and supervise learners;
• Maintain current licensure and stay updated on discipline changes through work experience, conferences, continuing education, coursework, journals, etc.

Text-Based Article Requirements:

• Provide an acceptable final CE article in Google Docs with a word count of:
• 11,000 for 1 CEU,
• 16,000 for 1.5 CEU,
• 22,000 for 2 CEU.

Compensation:

• Firefighter:
• $1000 for 11,000+ words,
• $1500 for 16,000+ words,
• $2000 for 22,000+ words.

• Hazmat Technician, Fire Inspector (Specialty):
• $1300 for 11,000+ words,
• $1800 for 16,000+ words,
• $2500 for 22,000+ words.
