Blue Canyon Technologies in Lafayette, CO is seeking a Subcontracts Administrator I to manage category specific subcontracts for space programs from solicitation through award and closeout, lead RFQ/RFP activities, and drive supplier relationships.

You will work with senior team members and technical leads to ensure supplier capability and performance support mission requirements, while maintaining FAR/DFAR compliance and ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage category specific subcontracts for space programs from solicitation through award and closeout.
  • Lead RFQs/RFPs and supplier evaluations; negotiate terms and prices.
  • Develop category supplier strategic relationships and manage risk assessments and performance tracking.
  • Review BOMs and statements of work to ensure accurate subcontract placement.
  • Manage supplier funding, milestones, and payments; monitor variances and approve invoices.
  • Escalate complex issues to Senior Subcontracts Administrators as needed.
  • Represent SCM in cross-functional teams to align with program objectives.

Position Purpose:

The Subcontracts Administrator I will be responsible for the management and oversight of category specific major, technically complex subcontracts, and related activities in support of Blue Canyon Technology customer programs. This position will participate in both subcontract management and commodity specific category supplier management. Additionally, this role will entail supplier sourcing, leading RFP and proposal evaluations, negotiations, and management of the supplier throughout the subcontract life cycle, with responsibility for the supplier relationship and contractual performance.

On-site position at our Lafayette, CO location (work locations are subject to change based on business need).

Job Responsibilities:
  • Execute and manage category specific minor, low to medium dollar space segment/subsystem subcontracts.
  • Responsible for all aspects of category subcontract execution from solicitation through award and closeout under guidance of Senior Subcontracts Administrators
  • Responsible for leading the development of category supplier strategic relationships and alignment of suppler capabilities to mission requirements. Develop and maintain risk assessments, performance tracking, and to drive supplier performance to subcontract requirements.
  • Author and review long-form subcontract, Bills of Material (BOMs), statement of work documents to ensure accurate subcontract placement
  • Responsible for supplier sourcing, RFQs/RFPs, lead supplier proposal evaluations; employ value analysis techniques to analyze cost/price, technical capability and financial viability, investigate supplier’s ability to perform within the proposed cost, technical, and schedule parameters.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and standard Terms and Conditions for low-risk subcontracts
  • Identify supplier risk and opportunities to achieve program objectives; develop risk assessments, manage supplier risk through targeted negotiation strategies/plans in conjunction with the Subcontract Management Team/technical leads; lead subcontract negotiations.
  • Owns the management of supplier contractual performance throughout the subcontracting lifecycle; resolve supplier performance issues and any internal BCT issues that affect supplier performance
  • Escalate complex contractual, technical, or commercial issues to Senior Subcontracts Administrators as appropriate
  • Represent Supply Chain Management at various levels on cross functional teams to drive business success, cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform all subcontract administrative and management functions including modifications, manage subcontract funding, track subcontractor spend plan, milestone payment plans, cash flow and monitor variances; evaluate accuracy, and authorize payment of invoices; solicit Engineering Change Proposals, review Prime Contract modifications to include relevant changes in subcontract modifications
  • Ensure that all business is conducted using the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations as well as company policies and directives.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Drive to improve current processes and procedures
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications/Education:
  • 8 years or more related experience with Supply Chain/procurement experience, including execution and oversight of cost type and firm fixed price subcontracts in support of DoD and/or NASA customers. Is 8 years the standard for a SCA I or can the years of experience be reduced?
  • BS/BA preferred
  • Ability to effectively relate with others and cooperate as a team member.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, statements of work, or technical documentation preferred
  • Advanced FAR/DFAR knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal and organization skills.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Prior experience as a subcontract’s management professional at a 1st or 2nd tier Aerospace & Defense contractor preferred.
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education
Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
