Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM, seeks a Science/Engineering Project Leader to manage subcontracted efforts for suborbital flight tests. Roles span SEPL2 and SEPL3 with increasing independence and leadership. Candidates must have a science/engineering background and the ability to oversee complex supplier activities.

Hybrid work location is available in Los Alamos, with a DOE Q clearance requirement and strong emphasis on programmatic leadership and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science- or engineering-related field and 5 years directly related experience.
• Experience with subcontracting processes, including developing statements of work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate complex information.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontracting activities (launch services, flight vehicle engineering, telemetry and communications, simulations and analyses).
• Provide technical oversight to ensure subcontract work meets project, mission, and institutional requirements.
• At level 3, act with greater independence and help shape mission strategy and execution.
