Job summary

Valmont Industries seeks a Sub Arc Welder Operator to weld steel shafts, load parts with conveyors or cranes, and monitor quality throughout the process. The role involves operating a Sub Arc Seam Welder, adjusting process parameters, and interpreting blueprints to meet exact specifications.

The position is on site in the United States with first, second, and third shift options. Candidates should have at least 3 years of welding experience, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and AWS SAW/GMAW

Qualifications

• No degree required.
• Minimum of 3+ years relevant welding experience.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; most frequent up to 20 pounds.
• Read blue prints and use tape measure.
• AWS certified welder operator qualifications SAW and GMAW.

Responsibilities

• Load steel shafts into Sub Arc Seam Welder.
• Weld the entire seam of steel shafts to form a pole.
• Monitor quality of incoming steel; identify substandard material.
• Operate a straightener to straighten shafts after welding.
• Read blueprints to ensure correct welds and tolerances.
