Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is actively hiring an UAS Technical Manager to join our team in Summit Point, WV. The candidate will oversee sUAS programs, observe and report on demonstrations for senior Law Enforcement Executives, and track RDT&E activities for deployment viability of COTS and integrated sUAS systems.

Required is extensive knowledge of sUAS, geospatial analysis, and CONOPS, with the ability to brief high-level Government staff and collaborate across teams. U.S.

Qualifications

• US citizenship and ability to obtain DHS Public Trust.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering or related fields.
• Experience with sUAS technologies and CONOPS for law enforcement.
• Ability to travel up to 25% annually.

Responsibilities

• Strong small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) expertise.
• Observe and report on small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) technology demonstrations and Test and Evaluation (T&E) programs and projects for senior Law Enforcement Executives.
• Track ongoing RDT&E, technology demonstrations, and T&E activities to assess viability of deployment and operational capabilities of COTS, GOTS, and integrated sUAS systems.
• Leverage comprehensive understanding of legal exemptions regarding sUAS, to include: Title 6, 124n; Title 10 130i, as well as Executive Orders 14305 and 14307
• Coordinate operational plan (OPLAN) information with Office of Chief Counsel and Office of General Counsel for approval.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Interdisciplinary systems engineering lifecycle skillsets with knowledge of sUAS technologies.
• Understanding of law enforcement CONOPS, particularly regarding sUAS.
• Have the ability to understand a wide array of technologies and how they communicate.
• Strong understanding of geospatial analysis and applications.
• Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Demonstrate a high level of initiative and be a self-starter, solution seeker.
• Must be a team player who promotes cross-functional collaboration and maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
• Must understand how to work and brief effectively with high level Government staff.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
