Job description

The Opportunity

Are you a strategic engineer who thrives in the Front-End of project delivery? We are seeking a high-caliber Study Manager to lead complex Pre-Feasibility (PFS) and Feasibility Studies (FS) for a global ECPM leader.

Based in our Phoenix center of excellence, you will guide mining clients through the critical decision-making phases of project development. You will be responsible for defining the economic and technical viability of major assets, specializing in high-demand commodities including Lithium, Copper, Gold, and Precious Metals.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Stewardship: Lead the preparation and consolidation of NI 43-101 technical reports across all phases (PEA, PFS, and FS) utilizing industry best practices.

Strategic Consulting: Work directly with Client executives and Boards of Directors to evaluate multiple scenarios and develop robust economic business cases.

Full-Cycle Study Management: Own the study scope, deliverables, schedule, budget, and quality. Ensure the engineering effort is seamlessly coordinated across all multidisciplinary teams.

Risk & Change Management: Proactively identify and mitigate technical and commercial risks while managing the change control process to protect project margins.

Proposal & Tender Support: Participate in the preparation of study proposals, ensuring technical solutions are innovative, proprietary, and aligned with client requirements.

Team Leadership: Foster a positive, high-performance atmosphere; manage resource deployment and oversee staff performance and discipline within the study team.

Professional Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.

Years of Experience: 10+ years within ECPM, Mining Construction, or Operations.

Study Leadership: At least 5 years of dedicated experience as a Study Manager on large-scale mining projects (Capex of $300M+).

Commodity Expertise: Specific knowledge and project history involving Lithium, Copper, and Gold.

Project Life Cycle: Comprehensive understanding of the transition from Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) through to Final Feasibility and execution planning.

Innovation: Proven ability to develop proprietary and innovative solutions to optimize traditional mining processes.

Communication: Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex engineering data into actionable insights for client stakeholders.

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to join a global group with a 40-year track record. In 2026, as the demand for critical minerals like Lithium and Copper skyrockets, you will be at the helm of the studies that define the next generation of North American mining.

The Phoenix Advantage: This is an onsite role in one of the world’s most active mining hubs, offering the chance to lead high-value projects without the constant rotation of site-based roles.
