Job summary

Goldbelt Professional Services is seeking a Study Coordinator III to perform selective scientific work on projects studying viruses, humans, and animals. You will help design international surveillance systems, manage databases, and analyze epidemiologic data, presenting findings at conferences and supporting contract and grant activities.

The role emphasizes data quality, cross-functional collaboration, and the development of educational and public-facing materials for stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s in a relevant scientific field with CDC clearance ability.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in public health or epidemiology projects.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage international surveillance databases for human and animal data.
  • Maintain data quality, entry, cleaning, validation, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Coordinate meetings and manage working group communications.
  • Handle human data records and electronic storage with confidentiality.
  • Analyze epidemiologic data and prepare summaries for reports/publications.
  • Present findings at conferences and assist with manuscript preparation.
  • Support contract packages and cooperative agreement submissions.

Overview

Goldbelt Professional Services specializes in providing expert resources for Public Health missions including scientific, technical, and administrative support from junior staff to high-level subject matter experts. Research and data driven, Goldbelt Professional Services’ experts create solutions customized to the client’s needs.

Summary

As a Study Coordinator III the candidate shall perform specified portions of scientific work involving studies of the functions, environmental response, biological activities, and/or processes of viruses, humans, and animals, and their component parts.

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions
  • International surveillance system design, including development of databases for the collection of human and animal information
  • Management of domestic and international databases. Ensuring that data is entered in a timely fashion and conducting data quality assessments.
  • Facilitates routine meetings between laboratory and epidemiology staff. Maintains working group contact information and coordinates meetings.
  • Human records management. Participates in a working group to ensure that human data is appropriately recorded and electronically stored.
  • Analyze data associated with epidemiologic studies.
  • Present work at national/international conferences and prepare manuscripts for publication.
  • Database design and entry of epidemiological data from ongoing research projects
  • Analysis of data collected from evaluations or epidemiological research projects
  • Coordinate revisions and updates to disease specific website.
  • Facilitate educational program implementation; Develop and evaluate educational materials.
  • Assist with the development and submission of contract packages; Manage project deadlines for contracts and CoAg submissions.
  • Manage inquiries to ensure accuracy and timeliness of responses, providing responses as necessary.Database entry of case report form data from surveillance systems.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of epidemiologic research, public health surveillance, study coordination, and management of human and animal health data.
  • Experience managing surveillance or research databases, including data entry, data cleaning, validation, quality assurance, and resolution of data discrepancies.
  • Ability to support database design and maintenance, including development of data collection tools, case report forms, tracking systems, and standardized data elements.
  • Ability to perform basic to intermediate analysis of epidemiologic or surveillance data and summarize findings for research, programmatic, or investigative use.
  • Strong project coordination skills, including managing timelines, tracking deliverables, organizing meetings, maintaining stakeholder information, and coordinating activities across multiple workstreams.
  • Knowledge of records management, data confidentiality, data integrity, and appropriate handling and electronic storage of human research or surveillance information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with epidemiologists, laboratory staff, public health officials, domestic and international partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and maintain technical, educational, and public-facing materials, including reports, training materials, presentations, website content, and stakeholder communications.
  • Experience supporting administrative and programmatic activities such as contract packages, cooperative agreement submissions, documentation requirements, and deadline tracking.
  • Ability to contribute to scientific products, including data summaries, abstracts, presentations, manuscripts, and conference materials.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelors Degree in microbiology, virology, molecular biology, immunology, biotechnology, or a closely related scientific discipline.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, biological sciences, health sciences, clinical research, health informatics, or a related field.
  • Approximately 5-7 years of relevant experience supporting or coordinating public health, epidemiologic, clinical, surveillance, or research projects.
  • Experience working with surveillance databases, research databases, case report forms, or electronic data collection systems.
  • Experience supporting domestic or international public health, research, or surveillance activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with Microsoft Access, REDCap, SQL-based systems, or comparable database and data-management tools.
  • Experience using statistical or analytical software such as SAS, R, SPSS, Stata, or similar tools.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary meetings, working groups, training activities, and project deliverables across internal and external partners.
  • Experience supporting contracts, cooperative agreements, grants, or other research and program management activities.
  • Experience developing educational materials, public health communications, website content, or stakeholder response materials.
  • Experience contributing to scientific presentations, abstracts, technical reports, manuscripts, or conference materials.
  • Prior experience with CDC.
  • Experience training laboratory personnel or external researchers in molecular diagnostic, virology, or research assays.
  • Experience contributing to peer-reviewed manuscripts, abstracts, scientific presentations, or presentations at national or international conferences.
  • Prior experience with CDC.
