GBH is seeking a Technical Director to oversee the technical execution and readiness of GBH Studios’ broadcast and production facilities. You’ll lead live and recorded productions, coordinate with producers, directors, and engineering teams, and ensure operations meet GBH standards.

The role requires advanced knowledge of studio systems, strong troubleshooting and communication skills, and the ability to lead crews in fast-paced environments. Hybrid work arrangement applies.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of broadcast studio production and control room operations.
• Proficiency with studio switchers and related workflows.
• Experience with live and recorded productions and post-production workflows.

Responsabilités

• Serve as Technical Director for live broadcasts, recorded programming, livestreams, and events.
• Direct the technical execution of productions, including stage plots, cameras, routing, graphics, playback, and communications.
• Operate and oversee production control room systems and workflows with engineering support.
• Lead technical checks, system tests, and pre-production meetings to resolve issues.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned productions, communicating requirements with stakeholders.
• Collaborate to develop efficient technical workflows across departments.
• Troubleshoot issues during live and recorded productions and coordinate maintenance.
• Maintain knowledge of studio equipment, signal flow, routing, cameras, and control room tech.
• Ensure productions meet broadcast, safety, and organizational standards.
• Mentor staff and freelance crew; provide high-level customer service.
