The General Manager will drive daily operations, manage labor, maintain facilities, recruit and mentor staff, and partner with marketing to grow the business while upholding Barry’s hospitality standards

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of fitness management or related experience (hospitality, retail, etc.).
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or equivalent experience.
• Financial acumen and ability to assess financial impact of decisions.
• Availability for full-time work during non-traditional hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to train, lead, motivate, and delegate to a team of employees.
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and time-sensitive setting.
• Excellent written and oral communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Detail-oriented mindset with focus on customer satisfaction.
• Strong negotiation, mediation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven dependability and reliability.
• Friendly, outgoing personality and can-do attitude.
• Professional in appearance and behavior at all times.
• Enthusiasm for Barry’s brand.
• Ability to kneel, bend, reach, climb, and stand for long durations; move and lift 30+ pounds.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily studio operations and studio management teams, including Front Desk, FuelBar, Retail and Facilities operations.
• Drive studio performance and meet key studio, retail, and FuelBar metrics; make informed business decisions.
• Oversee labor schedules to ensure proper coverage and alignment with budgeted hours.
• Inspect studio spaces; manage facilities initiatives and repairs in coordination with leadership.
• Maintain a hands-on presence in studios and mentor employees and managers.
• Assist with new studio openings when necessary.
• Manage communications between supervisors, peers, and subordinates to ensure proper support.
• Recruit, screen, and onboard new employees across departments.
• Analyze training levels to ensure Barry’s hospitality standards are met.
• Coach teams, conduct performance reviews, and address personnel concerns with HR.
• Help sourcing and hiring via leadership to build talent pipelines and engagement.
• Partner with marketing to implement brand initiatives and growth strategies.
• Foster a unified culture and high staff engagement across studios.
