Job summary

Midtown Athletic Club is seeking a part-time Studio Coordinator to support seven boutique studio concepts on-site in Chicago. You will manage administrative and coordination tasks, class scheduling, substitute coverage, and instructor evaluations, ensuring studios stay stage-ready and members have a premier experience.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of group fitness or related member-service experience.
  • Nationally recognized Group Fitness certification and CPR/AED cert.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with instructors and members.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and validate studio participation data and prepare reports.
  • Coordinate substitute coverage and communicate schedule changes.
  • Conduct daily studio walkthroughs and address equipment and AV concerns.
  • Assist with instructor evaluations and follow-up with Studio Manager.
  • Assist with instructor evaluations, coordinate follow-up, and support upskills/workshops.
  • Help plan and execute studio events, activations, and member experiences.
  • Support onboarding for new instructors and studio standards.
  • Teach up to 10 classes per week including substitutes.

The Opportunity & Your Impact

In this role, you will strengthen the day-to-day operation of seven boutique studio concepts at Midtown. You will own essential administrative and coordination work - from daily participation reporting and substitute coverage to space walkthroughs andInstructorevaluation support–helping ensure Instructorsare supportedandstudios remainstage-ready.

Working closely with the Studio Manager, you will also gain hands-on experience in Instructor onboarding and development, upskills, events and member experience initiatives. This role offers meaningful opportunities to build leadership capabilities, expand your operational knowledge, and prepare for future growth at Midtown.

Job Overview
  • On site at Midtownclub location.
  • Hourly coordination role reporting to the Studio Manager.
  • Approximately 25 hours per week are dedicated to studio coordination responsibilitiesand up to10 hours per week of teaching classes.
  • Supports the daily administrative and operational execution ofallboutique studio concepts.
How You’ll Contribute
  • Collect andvalidatestudio participation data, maintainaccuraterecords, and prepare reporting for analysis.
  • Coordinate substitutecoverage and communicate schedule changes to ensure classesremaincovered.
  • Conduct daily studio walkthroughs, address routine needs, and elevate equipment,cleanlinessand audio-visual concerns.
  • Support instructor quality: Complete orassistwithInstructor evaluations each monthand coordinate follow-up with the Studio Manager.
  • Assistwith instructorevaluations, coordinate follow-up, and support the delivery of upskills and workshops.
  • Helpplan and execute studio events, activations, and surprise & delight experiences.
  • Supportnew Instructors through onboarding requirements,resourcesand studio standards.
  • Teach up to 10 classes per week, including substitute coverage, while modeling Midtown's coaching and member-experience standards.
  • Support the Studio Manager with team communications, administrative projects, and other studio priorities as needed.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • At least 1 year of group fitness, boutique fitness, hospitality, or related member-service experience.
  • Nationally recognized Group Fitness certification and current CPR/AED certification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with instructors, members, and club leaders.
  • Passion for boutique fitness experiences and community-building.
  • Ability to stay current with industry trends and evolving fitness formats.

  • Instructors consistently deliver high-quality, on-brand classes.
Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Range: Estimated total annual earnings range between $56,000 - $66,000, based on a blend of administrative responsibilities and up to 10 hours of weekly studio instruction time.

The finaloffered ratewill be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity.
