Job summary

Advanced Management Strategies Group (AMSG) seeks a Studio Build and Management Specialist (AV/Control Room) to design, build, and operate two AV studios and a shared control room on-site in Frederick, MD for VA PAO missions.

You will plan space layouts, install and maintain equipment, and serve as Technical Director during recordings and live events, coordinating with vendors and staff. Some evening/weekend work and a Public Trust clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and installing AV systems across multiple studio configurations.
• Experience operating a control room for recorded and live broadcasts.
• Experience as Technical Director, calling shots and directing crew in real time.
• Experience with live events or virtual conferences, including video walls and teleprompters.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
• Project management experience for build-out or renovation projects.
• Excellent customer service and ability to translate client vision into productions.
• Willingness to use VA-approved AI tools to improve efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities

• Plan layout and build-out of studios and control room with equipment selection.
• Install, configure, and maintain AV equipment across studios.
• Operate the control room to support recordings and live events.
• Serve as Technical Director during production days, directing crew in real time.
• Troubleshoot studio equipment and systems.
• Manage equipment inventory and maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate set design and pieces for Studio 2 productions.
• Train staff in studio equipment usage as needed.
