Job summary

Ameren Corporation in St. Louis, MO is seeking a facilities planning intern to assist with FF&E selection, space planning, and project documentation as part of our IWMS-driven processes.

You will collaborate with project teams to develop design concepts, learn budgeting, compliance checks, and contribute to occupancy data while gaining hands-on experience across facilities management.

Responsibilities

• Assist with interior renovation and FF&E selection and reviewing product options.
• Learn how purchasing recommendations are developed and assist with project cost estimating and budgeting.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop design concepts, prepare project documentation, and understand client requirements.
• Contribute to facility planning standards reviews and regulatory compliance considerations by reviewing floor plans.
• Support development of facility programming documents and block plans; maintain space and occupancy data under guidance.
• Utilize IWMS to support FF&E work request tracking and space data maintenance.
• Participate in routine space audits and assist with inventory management records for furniture, signage, storage equipment, and assets.
• Help maintain FF&E standards and learn best practices in workplace design and operations.
• Partner with Facilities team on special projects and other assignments providing growth opportunities.

Support workplace moves, additions, and changes across multiple Ameren facilities while gaining exposure to facility planning and space management processes. Assist the team with interior renovation and new construction projects by participating in furniture, fixture, and equipment (FF&E) selection, reviewing product options, and learning how purchasing recommendations are developed. Collaborate with project teams to help develop design concepts, prepare project documentation, understand client requirements, and contribute to project cost estimating and budgeting activities. Learn about facility planning standards and regulatory requirements by assisting with the review of floor plans to help identify compliance considerations. Support the development of facility programming documents and block plans while building an understanding of space planning methodologies. Assist in maintaining and updating facility occupancy and space planning information under the guidance of experienced team members. Utilize the Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) to support FF&E work request tracking and help maintain space and occupancy data. Participate in routine space audits to learn inventory management practices and assist with maintaining records related to furniture, signage, graphics, storage equipment, and overall asset conditions. Support the development and maintenance of FF&E standards while gaining insight into workplace design and operational best practices. Partner with Facilities team members on special projects and other assignments that provide opportunities for professional growth and hands-on learning. Other duties as assigned.
