Grand Canyon University Inc. is seeking Online Student Tutors to help fellow GCU students in Math and Computer Science from home.

Tutors work 10–20 hours weekly with a flexible schedule, using Zoom for sessions, and get paid training plus provided equipment. Applicants must be enrolled full-time, maintain GPA 3.5+, and have completed relevant courses (ITT-111/CST-105/BIT-200 for CS; MAT-144/MAT-154 for Math; MAT-274 or BUS-352 for statistics).

Qualifications

• Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
• Must have earned an A− or higher in the course(s) they wish to tutor.
• Enrollment as full-time in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program.

Responsibilities

• Explain concepts and answer questions for online students via Zoom screen share.
• Help students develop critical thinking rather than simply giving answers.
• Review homework and identify areas needing extra support.
• Personalize tutoring sessions to each student’s learning style and needs.
• Contact students to schedule tutoring appointments.
• Document tutoring sessions and maintain accurate notes.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Assist with administrative projects as assigned.

As an Online Student Tutor, you will work one-on-one with fellow online GCU students, helping them build confidence, improve their understanding of course material, and achieve academic success—all while working remotely from the comfort of your home or dorm.

We are currently seeking tutors in any of the following subjects:

• Computer Science
• ITT-111 – Introduction to Information Technology
• CST-105 – Computer Programming I
• BIT-200 – Introduction to Computer Technology Mathematics & Statistics
• MAT-144 – College Mathematics
• MAT-154 – Applications of College Algebra
• MAT-274 – Probability and Statistics
• BUS-352 – Business Statistics

Subject Requirements

• Computer Science Tutors Must have successfully completed ITT-111, CST-105, or BIT-200
• Math Tutors Must have successfully completed MAT-144 or MAT-154
• Statistics Tutors Must have successfully completed MAT-274 or BUS-352

Student Employment Eligibility

To qualify for student employment at Grand Canyon University, applicants must:

• Be enrolled full-time in a bachelor's or master's degree program.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate).
• Remain in good academic and financial standing (SAP).
• Meet all GCU student employment requirements.
• You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Work Environment

This position is 100% remote. Tutors work from home, apartment or their dorm using university-provided equipment. Applicants must reside in Arizona - within 30 miles of campus while working.
