Responsibilities

• Consulting with patrons on making activities for both academic and personal projects.
• Training patrons on the use of the various tools and equipment.
• Providing excellent customer service to patrons.
• Cleaning and organizing the space according to assigned shift duties.
• Staffing the Makerspace during open hours.
• Facilitating Makerspace orientations, workshops, and trainings.
• Helping with Makerspace functions around campus.
• Assisting with training new employees.
• Assisting with various projects, activities and tasks related to the Makerspace.
• Completing all assigned training in a punctual manner.
• Maintaining regular and punctual attendance.

Job Overview

The Moody Makerspace is seeking a creative, friendly, and outgoing individual with a passion for educating others about ‘making.’ The Moody Makerspace allows students, faculty, and staff access to creative tools and equipment, including 3D printers, laser engravers, vinyl cutters, embroidery machines, bike repair, and various hand and powered tools. Maker Mentors oversee the use of this equipment and provide help and guidance to patrons as they realize their projects. They regularly assist students, faculty, and staff through brainstorming, teaching, and assisting with equipment and tool use throughout the life of the project.

Responsibilities
