**Position Type:**Part time**Remote Type:****Salary Range:**$16.37/ Hour**Job Shift:****Job Description:****ONLY CURRENT DUNWOODY STUDENTS MAY APPLY****Position Title:** Student Worker - IT **Approximate Hours per Week:** 17-25 hours **Number of Openings:**3 **Shift:**Morning/afternoon/evening (IT Service Desk hours: 7am-6:30pm) **Schedule:** To be discussed during interview**Start Date**: To be discussed during interview**Primary Duties:*** Maintain a record of all user requests in the service desk ticketing software as a tool to track calls and establish metrics. Responsible for closing service desk calls as they are completed.* Provide computer and network technical support to users via ticketing system, telephone, and in-person. Assist users with a variety of technical issues dealing with various platforms, operating systems, applications, etc.* Open/Close the IT Service Desk depending on the shifts.* Recommend hardware and software upgrades to ensure users have current and functional technology.* Provide a moderate amount of computer training to users to ensure an efficient and successful computing experience.* Setup, configure, and deploy computers and officially authorized software to users as a tool for performing their duties and responsibilities.* Respond to service desk calls within level-of-service guidelines and follow-up with users, as needed. Follow-up to include duplicating complex problems, if necessary, in the lab requiring elaborate setup and working with more senior members of the support or engineering staff to resolve complex issues. Alert manager to unusual problems or problem trends as they occur.* Perform maintenance tasks, including loading paper and toner, to printer fleet.* Make sure digital signages around campus are functional.* Under the direction of the IT management, performs duties according to their best judgment, requesting assistance when necessary.* The effect of an error by this position has a high impact on user productivity. The long-term effect could be the loss of user data and cause the user to miss deadlines.* Requires excellent verbal/written communication skills to efficiently resolve user requests and build effective client relationships.* Complete administrative reports and other duties as required.**Qualifications:*** Current enrollment in a computer-related program in Dunwoody College of Technology or equivalent experience with computers required. The ideal candidate is in the 1st or 2nd Semester of their program. Equivalent experience is defined as a minimum of 1 year of experience in technical support position.* Demonstrated proficiency in the maintenance and installation of personal computer hardware and software.* Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. safely.Since our founding, all who have worked at Dunwoody have been dedicated to the success of every one of our students.
