Job summary

Chaminade University of Honolulu's Sullivan Library seeks a Student Worker, Client Services to serve as the first point of contact for technical assistance within the campus community. The role is part-time, non-exempt and reports to the Director of Client Services.

You will handle inquiries via phone, email, and walk-ins, enter requests, assist with campus technology, and help create self-help resources while developing communication and time-management skills in a university setting.

Qualifications

• Must be an enrolled student at Chaminade University.
• GPA of at least 2.5 preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Responsibilities

• Enter and review all calls, email, and walk-in service requests.

The Student Worker Client Assistant serves as first point of contact for the Chaminade community when they need technical assistance.

• Acquire knowledge of services and department processes to respond to client inquiries and issues
• Provide assistance via various modes of communication
• Provide friendly and knowledgeable assistance in regarding the use of Chaminade resources
• Enter and/or review all calls, email, and walk-in service requests
• Coordinate with other student assistants and staff members to achieve smooth workflow
• Create reference documentation to maximize degree of self-help for Chaminade community

• Physical Requirements

Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 5 0 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.

• Other Requirements:
• This is a Part-time Non-Exempt Student Worker position. Depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and a varying schedule.

• Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University. Reports unsafe acts/conditions and injuries in a timely and proper manner
