Job summary

Regent University seeks a tutor to support undergraduates through doctoral students with writing, reading, and study skills via video, phone, and in-person sessions when possible.

You will run drop-in hours, group coaching, and handle administrative tasks while collaborating with a dynamic team. Strong writing ability, excellent communication, and a patient, empathetic approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; undergraduates with strong writing skills encouraged.
• Completion of ENGL 102 and ENGL 301/501 with a B+ or higher.
• Strong communication, research-based writing, ability to work independently, and willingness to serve others.
• Demonstrates patience, empathy, kindness, and active listening.

• Provide one-on-one tutoring in writing, reading, and study skills via video, phone, or in person.
• Host drop-in hours and group coaching sessions.
• Provide administrative support, including emails, phone calls, scheduling, and resource creation.
• Participate in monthly virtual staff meetings and trainings.

• Host drop-in hours and groupcoachingsessions
• Provide administrative support, including emails, phone calls, appointment scheduling, and resource creation (if applicable)
• Participate in team-wide trainings and meetings (e.g. monthly virtual staff meeting)

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred - Undergraduate students with strong writing skills are still encouraged to apply
• Completion of ENGL 102 and ENGL 301/501 with a B+ or higher
• Strong communication skills, expertise in research-based writing, ability to work independently, and willingness to serve others

Salary:

$14.00 per hour
