Job summary

Auburn University invites applications for a TES Eagles Student Services Coach in Auburn, AL. This role supports students with intellectual disabilities in the EAGLES program while a regular staff member is on leave.

It emphasizes personal/social skills, health and wellness, social skill coaching, and data-tracking of progress. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Student Services and involves coordinating wellness programming, leading activities, and assisting with practicum

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required or equivalent.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities desired.
• Ability to collect, record and use data to track student progress and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personal and social skills lessons and activities in small-group and individual settings.
• Coach students on social skills, healthy relationships, boundaries and consent, conflict resolution, self-advocacy, and appropriate phone and social media use.
• Help students take part in campus clubs, organizations and events, and plan social activities that give students real-world practice.
• Observe students, collect data and complete personal and social skill assessments each term.
• Coordinate health and wellness programming and plan/lead events that promote activity and nutrition.
• Meet regularly with an assigned cohort, track progress and follow up on concerns.
• Support practicum students’ field experiences and assist with classroom activities as needed.
