Job summary

Illinois State University’s Dr. Julia N. Visor Academic Center seeks tutors for CHE 140/141 to deliver weekly small-group tutoring and tailor help to each student’s needs. This is a student employee pool; assignments occur when demand rises. Candidates should have a 2.80+ GPA and strong communication, with a friendly, helpful approach. Some evenings/weekends possible. Starting date TBD; two tutor references required.

Qualifications

• GPA must be at least 2.80.
• A grade of A or high B is usually required in the course(s) in which the candidate is applying to tutor.
• The tutor provides help tailored to each student's needs, so they must be friendly, desire to be helpful, and must be able to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group tutoring on a weekly basis for lower level CHE courses.
• Tailor tutoring to each student's needs and communicate effectively.
• Assist with other tasks as assigned by graduate assistant supervisors and the Coordinator of Academic Support Services.
