Job summary

North America Central School Bus is seeking a Safety Manager to lead safety and driver training programs within our school bus operation. You will partner with local and regional leadership to promote a strong safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include overseeing training, monitoring safety performance, maintaining records, and delivering both classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction to drivers. This role offers an opportunity to directly impact student safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of transportation or school bus safety experience preferred.
• Knowledge of federal and state transportation safety regulations preferred.
• Strong communication, coaching and presentation skills.
• Ability to obtain a CDL with required endorsements and permits.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise safety and training staff.
• Oversee driver training, onboarding, and ongoing development.
• Monitor safety performance, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage Workers’ Compensation and safety-related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, state, local, and company safety requirements.
• Deliver classroom and behind-the-wheel training.
• Maintain driver qualification files, MVRs, evaluations, and other required records.
• Analyze safety trends and recommend improvements to reduce risk.
