Job summary

Southeastern Massachusetts Educational Collaborative (SMEC) in Dartmouth, MA is seeking a part-time 7d Van Driver to safely transport and assist students to and from school programs. The role includes operating a wheelchair-accessible van and supporting mobility-impaired students.

The position offers roughly 15–20 hours per week with a split shift for morning and afternoon routes, plus a 5-week summer program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; experience with students with or without disabilities preferred.
• Massachusetts driver’s license and 7d license, or the ability to obtain and maintain a School Pupil Transport (7d) License.
• CORI, SAFIS, and driving history checks are required for all positions.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and maintain a valid 7d license at all times.
• Conduct daily safety checks of the vehicle and report any issues.
• Assist students with mobility including entering/exiting the vehicle.
• Drive morning and afternoon routes; approximately 15–20 hours per week.
• Ensure students wear seat belts and follow traffic laws.
