Qualifications

• Massachusetts 7D School Transport license required.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Able to pass random alcohol and drug tests.
• Must complete required Bus/Van safety training.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Effective communication with staff and students.
• Knowledge of student discipline procedures.
• Ability to manage student behavior on transport.
• Capability to operate a school bus/van.

Responsibilities

• Follow assigned route and schedules for transports.
• Drive bus/van to activities and school, safely loading students including those in wheelchairs.
• Inspect vehicle for defects before/after operation and report issues.
• Record mileage, fuel use, and passenger counts; keep vehicle clean.
• Maintain safe operations and report accidents or incidents.
• Communicate with teachers and parents about student behavior.
• Supervise students boarding and alighting; use safe riding rules.
