Job summary

Show Low Unified School District is seeking a reliable Bus Driver to transport students to and from school, field trips, and activities, ensuring safety and compliance with all traffic and district policies. The role requires pre-trip inspections, safe operation of the bus, and professional interaction with students, staff, and parents.

The ideal candidate holds an Arizona CDL with school bus endorsement, School Bus Certification, DOT medical clearance, CPR/First Aid, and an IVP fingerprint

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Arizona CDL with school bus endorsement (Class B, Air Brake, Passenger, School Bus).
• Arizona School Bus Driver Certification required.
• Must pass DOT physical and drug test.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• At least two years of driving experience with a clean record.
• Ability to work early mornings, late afternoons, and some evenings for events.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and school bus safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school, field trips, and events.
• Ensure students are dropped off to designated points and met by guardians when applicable.
• Demonstrate emergency evacuation procedures and maintain route logs.
• Operate wheelchair lift as needed and maintain order on the bus.
• Perform daily pre-trip safety inspections and report defects.
• Communicate with teachers, staff, and parents regarding routes and delays.
• Follow safety procedures and manage student behavior calmly.
