Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three years in a school transportation department or related field.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to learn and operate a computerized routing program.
• Thorough knowledge of district streets and bus routes.
• Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations.
• CDL Class B license preferred.
• Ability to work under stress and time constraints.
• Good interpersonal relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Daily dispatching of transportation staff.
• Alter, reroute, and rearrange schedules as directed.
• Monitor and respond to all bus radio calls.
• Assign and acquaint transportation staff to routes when necessary.
• Provide input in development, monitoring, and modification of bus routes.
• Provide timely responses to parental inquiries and concerns.
• Coordinate with staff to schedule transportation for field trips and activities.
• Attend meetings as requested.
• Maintain records and prepare reports.
• Work cooperatively with staff, parents, and the public.
