Job summary

Coker University seeks a Part-Time Temporary Bus/Van Driver for the TRIO Upward Bound program to transport students on Saturday College Days, sessions, and Summer Academy in Hartsville, SC.

Responsibilities include safe passenger transport, daily sign-in, maintaining schedules, and reporting needs or incidents. Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and prior van/bus driving experience with low-income, first-generation students.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have a valid, unexpired driver’s license and bus/van driver training.
• Experience driving vans/buses with low-income, first-generation students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport students to and from designated pick-up and drop-off locations.
• Ensure safety and behavior do not compromise student welfare on the van.
• Complete daily sign-on/sign-off sheets and count students on/off.
• Maintain visual safety checks daily and complete trip checklists.
• Keep interior and exterior of vehicle clean; report any repairs.
• Record mileage and submit gas receipts.
• Convey messages from parents and report incidents on the bus/van.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
