Job summary

Coker University is seeking a Part-Time Temporary Bus/Van Driver for the TRIO Upward Bound program in Hartsville, SC. The role involves transporting students in grades 9-12 to Saturday sessions and a Summer Academy, with emphasis on student safety and welfare during transit.

Qualifications

• Must have experience driving vans/buses and working with students
• Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential
• Ability to maintain schedules while meeting student needs
• Valid, unexpired driver’s license and bus/van driver training will be provided

Responsibilities

• Transport students to and from designated pickup and drop-off locations
• Ensure safety and behavior management on the van
• Complete daily sign-on/off sheets and track students
• Maintain student supervision and never leave a student unattended
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and complete trip checklists
• Keep interior/ exterior of the vehicle clean
• Report needed repairs promptly
• Relay messages from parents and document incidents
• Record mileage and submit gas receipts
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
