Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• May be required to obtain a First Aid Card.
• Must pass a fingerprint/background check.
• Ability to maintain ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students and staff.
• Ability to work professionally with others and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to attain and maintain a Type 10 Certification, training provided by district.
• Ability to work in a physically and emotionally demanding environment.
• Physical requirements include stamina, standing, walking, bending, and de-escalation as needed.

Responsibilities

• Transport students safely to school and home in a district vehicle.
• Perform thorough pre-trip inspection and report any malfunctions.
• Perform duties within a student's IEP during transportation.
• Supervise students while in transport.
• Maintain confidentiality of students and records.
• Act as a mandated abuse reporter.
• Know and follow Astoria School District policies and procedures.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
