Jackson County Intermediate School District is seeking a Bus Attendant to provide support for students during transportation and serve as a substitute bus driver when needed. Responsibilities include assisting with wheelchairs, managing behavior, and maintaining safety and documentation.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid Michigan driver's license, and the ability to obtain a CDL-B with endorsements. Training in first aid is required, and regular attendance is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education and experience.
• Must have no more than 6 points on driving record.
• Must be able to successfully complete and utilize courses in first aid techniques.

Responsabilités

• Assist students with special needs on/off the vehicle and secure wheelchairs.
• Manage student behavior problems.
• Position students.
• Lift students.
• Restrain students as necessary, consistent with training.
• Monitor conduct of students.
• Assist students with other needs as identified.
• Communicate with students, parents and employees.
• Clean and disinfect vehicle – including sweeping, washing, mopping and cleaning exterior of vehicle.
• Substitute for bus driver, including pre- and post-trip inspections and route planning.
• Administer first aid.
• Maintain written records.
• Load and unload equipment, materials, etc.
• Regular and predictable in-person attendance is required.
• Other related duties as assigned.
