Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to operate vehicle restraints, lifts and safety equipment.
• Educational Aide certificate is acquired after starting employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist bus driver with loading and unloading students and help them cross safely.
• Lift students up to 50 lbs and move them up to 50 feet using proper technique.
• Operate wheelchair lifts, restraints and safety seats as needed.
• Monitor student behavior and assist with discipline and safety on the bus.
• Prepare reports and communicate with administrators and families when required.
• Ensure students are properly seated before bus movement and maintain seating.
• Assist in emergencies and aid in evacuations when necessary.
• Coordinate with school staff and parents on route and schedule matters.
