Job summary

Bloom Carroll Local Schools is seeking a Transportation Aide (Non-Instructional) to assist with the safe transport of students with special transportation needs on a 5.5 hour per day schedule, Monday through Friday. The role involves helping students onto and off buses, securing passengers, supporting bus drivers, and learning routes.

A High School Diploma is required, along with a valid driver’s license and an Ohio Educational Aide permit.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Ohio Educational Aide Permit required or preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required (special requirement).
• Must be able to assist students with special needs and ensure safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist students on and off buses.
• Ensure proper securing of all passengers, including those in wheelchairs.
• Assist in controlling student behavior.
• Tend to the special needs and conditions of each student.
• Learn bus routes, schedules, and pickup points.
• Assist substitute drivers with directions and evacuations.
• Assist drivers in maintaining a clean bus interior.
• Perform related work as required.
