Job summary

United Ag is seeking a Student Technician for a part-time role to gain hands-on service experience while you study. You will support the Service Department and provide exceptional customer service on John Deere equipment while building practical skills.

You will work part-time under the Service Manager and technicians, perform basic diagnostics, document repairs, and help maintain shop and tools. A strong team player with good communication will fit well.

Qualifications

• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical stamina to handle tools and equipment and move through space.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Service Manager and technicians in the department's efficient operation.
• Clean, organize, and maintain the shop, vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Assist service technicians with parts delivery and repairs as needed.
• Document diagnostics and repairs thoroughly on work orders and submit on time.
• May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs to develop skills and knowledge.
• Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment.
• Maintain knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
• Operate and maintain vehicles, tools and equipment required for the job.

Job Type: Part Time

United Ag & Turf NE is looking for a Student Technician. Selected participant will get part-time on-the-job experience while attending your own outside program geared toward service. This position supports the Service Department providing extraordinary customer service on new and used John Deere equipment, while also providing exceptional hands-on experience.

What You’ll Do

• Assist the Service Manager and technicians in the efficient operation of the department
• Cleans, organizes and maintains the condition of shop, vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
• Assist service technicians as needed, including delivery of parts
• Assist service technicians with repairing, servicing and moving equipment
• Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on time submittal of information.
• May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
• Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment
• Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
• Operate and maintain vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities

Education

• High school diploma or GED

The posted pay range reflects the full compensation range for this position. Starting pay is determined based on relevant experience, skills, certifications, geographic market, and internal equity. Most new hires are placed within the lower to middle portion of the range, with opportunities for continued wage growth as they develop in the role.
