Job summary

United Construction & Forestry is seeking a Student Technician to join the Service Department. This part-time role provides on-the-job experience while you attend your own outside program geared toward service, supporting the team in servicing John Deere equipment.

You’ll assist the Service Manager and technicians, keep the shop and equipment organized, help deliver parts, and document diagnostics while gaining hands-on experience in repairs and training programs.

Qualifications

• Experience working cooperatively in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Physical stamina in handling complex tools and heavy equipment and moving through confined spaces.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Service Manager and technicians in the efficient operation of the department.
• Cleans, organizes and maintains the condition of shop, vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Assist service technicians as needed, including delivery of parts.
• Assist service technicians with repairing, servicing and moving equipment.
• Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on time submittal of information.
• May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
• Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment.
• Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
