Job summary

The University of Central Florida's SGHMI at UCF Downtown is seeking a part-time Computer Operations Specialist III to provide frontline and advanced technical support to students, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. The role includes application support for academic software, identity management, and knowledge management under UCF IT standards.

Part-time position based at UCF Downtown, 25 hours per week, with an hourly rate of $20.00.

Qualifications

• Experience providing technical support for computer hardware, software applications, operating systems, and peripheral devices.
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications, network connectivity, and end-user computing issues.
• Familiarity with SQL, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, TrueCode, and other specialized academic or enterprise software applications.
• Familiarity with Active Directory and identity and access management principles, including user provisioning and access control.
• Previous experience working with students in higher education.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to users of varying technical backgrounds.

• Diagnose and repair complex hardware and software issues escalated by technicians.
• Use electronic and networking testing equipment to diagnose computer equipment problems.
• Troubleshoot network issues.
• Assist in creating knowledge base articles to document solutions, processes, and procedures.
• Provide client education on how to use equipment, software, and university systems.
• Contact vendors for troubleshooting issues.
• Follows Standard Operating Procedures to perform Change, Request, Incident, and Problem Management within ServiceNow.
• Works to meet service level targets to ensure a high level of service delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing technical support for computer hardware, software applications, operating systems, and peripheral devices.
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications, network connectivity, and end-user computing issues.

Location and Hours

Type of Appointment: Fixed Term (Fixed Term).
