Job summary

Wilkinson County High School seeks an Instructional Assistant to support certified staff and help students meet instructional goals under supervision. The role frees teachers from non-professional duties and supports curriculum development.

The assistant will guide students in reading, math and computer use, work in small groups, assist with assessments, manage materials, help with behavior, supervise lunch, field trips, and general classroom tasks to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent with appropriate coursework.
Ability to understand and assist with instructional materials.
Experience supporting students with special needs desirable.

Responsibilities

Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction.
Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning.
Assist staff with administration and correction of exercises and assessments.
Prepare classroom materials and reinforce instructional strategies.
Document student learning and performance, and support behavior management.
Supervise non-instructional activities and accompany students on field trips.
Assist with parent contact to encourage involvement.
