Job summary

One City Schools is hiring a Student Support Specialist to work under a licensed special education teacher, implementing individualized supports and reinforcing routines to help Scholars with diverse learning needs flourish.

You will collaborate with educators and related staff, follow DPI guidelines, and participate in IEP meetings and professional development while contributing to a school culture of care and equity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Wisconsin DPI #0070 Special Education Program Aide license is required or eligibility.
• 1–3 years of experience working with children or youth preferred.
• Ability to follow teacher-designed instructional and behavior plans.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1, small-group, and push-in instructional support.
• Support IEP goals, accommodations, and behavior plans under teacher supervision.
• Reinforce classroom routines and paraprofessional duties.
• Collect and track data for progress monitoring and IEP updates.
• Model self-regulation and support social-emotional learning.
• Collaborate with special educators, general educators, and related service providers.
• Maintain confidentiality per FERPA, DPI, and IDEA requirements.
