East Valley Institute of Technology seeks a Student Support Specialist to provide comprehensive, student-centered support to EVIT students. The role focuses on addressing barriers to educational success, promoting well-being, and improving attendance and engagement in career and technical education programs.

The position is full-time on-site at EVIT's Main Campus in Mesa, AZ, with a 12-month calendar, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM.

Applications are being accepted for the position of Student Support Specialist with the East Valley Institute of Technology located at 1601 West Main St, Mesa, AZ 85201.

Position Summary:

The Student Support Specialist provides comprehensive, student-centered support to EVIT students to address barriers to educational success, promote student well-being, and improve attendance, school engagement, and participation in career and technical education programs. This position works closely with the Counseling Department, students, families, instructors, administrators, and community partners to identify student needs, coordinate interventions, and connect students with appropriate school and community resources. Using a supportive, solution-focused approach, the Student Support Specialist helps students develop positive coping and problem-solving skills while addressing academic, behavioral, social, emotional, and environmental challenges that may impact their success.

Job Type: Full-Time, 12 Month Calendar. Onsite, M-F 7:30-4:00 p.m.

Salary: $50,000 to $64,500 Placement in the range will be based on a combination of education, industry related experience, and job-related certification.

• Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSW) or closely related field from an accredited college or university required.
• One year of experience working with adolescents, young adults, families, or students in educational, social service, or community-based settings preferred.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience supporting high school students or young adults in a career and technical education environment.
• Experience in school social work, youth services, case management, student advocacy, or family support.
• Familiarity with community-based behavioral health, social services, crisis resources, and referral processes.
• Experience with attendance interventions, restorative practices, student engagement strategies, and multidisciplinary support planning.

Licensing/Certification and Other Requirements:

Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Identity Prints (IVP) fingerprint card. Applicable Arizona Statutes pursuant to Title 15 (Education) and Title 13 (Criminal) and Title 38 (Public Officers and Employees) prevail.

Proof of immunization against or immunity to measles and rubella if born after January 1, 1957.
