Job summary

IRVING INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT seeks a Title I/SCE General Aide to support office and classroom needs as directed by the principal. This grant-funded, 187-day position emphasizes assisting with student supervision and instructional activities.

The ideal candidate will have Educational Aide I paraprofessional certification or a high school diploma, strong communication, and the ability to work well with children in a busy school environment. The role reports to the principal.

Qualifications

  • Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate or equivalent required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receptionist/clerical duties in the office as assigned
  • Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises as assigned
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly work environment
  • Assist in supervising students throughout the school day as needed
  • Assist in the maintenance of administrative records and preparation of reports as required
  • Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment as assigned
  • Assist in preparing materials/displays for instruction or campus operations
  • Participate in staff development programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as required
