Adrian Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional – In School Suspension at Adrian High School. The role involves supervising students reassigned to the in‑school suspension room and assisting with action plans to maintain a safe, positive environment.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED and prior experience working with school‑aged children. The position pays $15.50 per hour, Monday–Friday, 7 hours per day, with regular attendance expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Previous experience working with school aged children.

Responsibilities

• Must have regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
• Supervises students assigned to the in school suspension room.
• Assists students with stated action plans.
• Communicates with principal, teachers, police liaison and/or social worker.
• Establish and maintain a harmonious atmosphere conducive to learning, including behavior and anger management.
• Maintains accurate records, including logs.
• Compiles and submits reports as required on a daily, weekly, monthly and/or annual basis.
• Alerts principal(s) and/or teachers to any problems or special information about individual students.
• Supervises Saturday School when scheduled.
• Must successfully complete APS required training.
• Must comply with all APS rules, policies and procedures.
• Provide support to other positions as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
