Job summary

Northumberland County School District is seeking an In-School Suspension Paraprofessional for a 10-month position. You will monitor students assigned to in-school suspension, enforce rules, and support attendance and progress reporting.

The role requires strong behavior management and clear communication with students, staff, and parents. Requirements include completing two years of higher education or holding an associate degree, plus demonstrated ability to assist in reading, writing and math

Qualifications

• Two years of college study or an associates degree required.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of reading, writing and mathematics for instruction support.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work with diverse students.

Responsibilities

• Monitor students in in-school suspension and enforce rules.
• Check attendance daily and report to attendance clerk.
• Explain expected conduct and achievement.
• Assign and review student work during suspension and monitor progress.
• Discuss behavior with students, staff and parents.
• Maintain records on suspensions and detention and mail letters to parents.
