Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is seeking a Secondary Paraeducator for the Resource Support Program at Todd Beamer High School. This role supports students with identified disabilities through one-on-one to small-group instruction under a certificated teacher, in addition to clerical tasks and day-to-day student supervision.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with options including AA degree or a combination of diploma plus college credits or paraeducator assessment.

Qualifications

• Proficient in basic spelling, math, and grammar skills.
• Experienced and/or trained in reading instruction, remediation, and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Tutor individuals and/or groups in specific skills as directed by the teacher.
• Assist the teacher in administering special instructional and/or behavioral programs when trained.
• Communicate and work with related resource personnel.
• Supervise students in accordance with school and district policies.
• Plan daily/weekly with teachers and other staff serving the same students.
• Assist students and teachers with record keeping.
• Assist teachers in communicating with parents.
• Practice effective safety and security within individual work routines.
